   Cowandilla Primary School

Sport and Physical Education

At Cowandilla we have a specialist Physical Education teacher. Each class has one lesson/ week with the PE teacher. Classroom teachers also implement their own PE lessons during the week. There is a swimming pool on site. Every child participates in swimming lessons in Term 1.

The Active after Schools Communities program operates two afternoons a week. The sessions run for R-3 and 4-7 students after school.

Many sporting clinics are conducted throughout the year for all students. This includes Bike Education and Footsteps Dance.

On Friday afternoons in Terms 2 and 3, the year 5,6 and 7 students participate in netball and soccer as part of the districts inter-school sports.

During Term 3, upper primary students are involved in a 9 week skill development program, which is run by Recreation students from Regency TAFE. This program is supported by school staff.
Students have the opportunity to participate in SAPSASA sport. School teams participate in Walla Rugby, district and state swimming, athletics and Cross country carnivals.
