Languages Other Than English (LOTE) At Cowandilla students can study Greek, Italian or Pitjantjatjara as LOTE subjects. English as a Second Language is offered for those who already speak another language. Many of our students can speak two or three languages.In the Reception & Year 1 classes the children experience all three LOTE subjects. Students in Years 3 – 7 have two LOTE lessons per week. The International Baccalaureate Programme values language learning highly because of the intercultural understanding and improved relationships that come from learning another language.
